Seville bus station: Estación Plaza de Armas

Seville’s main bus station is called Estación Plaza de Armas. Fortunately, it is very well connected with the Tussam city buses and you can even walk to some areas of the city center from there.

Located by the river, right outside the historical city center of Seville, Plaza de Armas is the more modern of the two bus stations in Seville, and it was inaugurated in 1992.

This bus station serves destinations in Andalucía (Córdoba, Granada, Málaga, Huelva) and many of the towns to the north and the west of the city (Carmona, Ronda) and other regions of Spain, including Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Cáceres, Mérida, Asturias and Galicia. Bus departing from this station travel to Portugal and France as well.

In addition to this, the bus station is also an intercambiador de transporte, or public transportation hub.

But the easiest and most comfortable option is to purchase your tickets online.

Getting to and from there

The bus station is also an intercambiador de transporte, or public transportation hub. It includes city buses, interurban buses and interregional buses.

Car rental

If you are considering renting a car you won’t find any car rental office at the Estación Plaza de Armas bus station.

However, my favorite choice to get the best cheap car rental rates is to book your rental car from home before setting a foot in Seville.

Taxi

The cabs are located in front of the bus station main entrance. You will have to pay a surcharge for travelling from the bus station.

Seville receives a lot of foreigners every year and taxi drivers know it. Taxis at Estación Plaza de Armas generally have a very bad reputation.

Please, make sure you know the exact address you are going to. Do some research in advance and spend some time in front of a map to get an idea of your route. If you can, provide some directions to the driver. At the end of the trip check the final fare and the change you receive!

I definitely don’t recommend taking a cab at Estación Plaza de Armas. Unless you are in a hurry or you have no other means of transport, avoid taking a taxi!

However, in other areas of the city, catching a taxi is fine. Here is some practical advice to avoid bad surprises using the Seville taxi service.
