Go to a bike rental Sevilla shop as soon as you arrive. It’s one of the best ways to discover the city.
Seville has one of the largest and oldest city centers in Europe. In other words, roads are almost never straight, most of them are one-way streets and to find one’s way is not particularly easy. As you can imagine, I don’t recommend you to drive inside the historical center (the rest of the city is fine, like any other European city) and public transport cannot take you anywhere you want.
So, you have two options: walk or hire a bicycle.
But what if you had the chance to explore Seville a bit differently?
Actually you do have it: it’s fun, pleasant and you don’t need to worry about traffic or parking. Moreover, you will do some exercise (good for your health and to compensate for the dozens of tapas you’ll eat while you are here). But it won’t be too hard because the city is flat.
Here are some very good bike rental Sevilla companies. All of them offer affordable rates and excellent bicycles.
Address: Calle Castelar, 9 (2 min walk from La Maestranza)
Opening hours: Monday to Friday 10:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 20:00 (Contact them if you want to rent a bike or a tour on weekends or on a holiday)
Elecmove rents exclusively electric bikes, offering all the advantages of the traditional bikes and with a small engine allowing you to ride swiftly and effortless. Despite you may think electric bikes are only for lazy, they are extremely comfortable and easy to ride: you can pedal and stop doing so whenever you want.
The bikes are extremely easy to use (even for someone like me who isn’t a bike pro). The tour allows you to breeze through Seville without being tired. I’ve tried them myself and they are surprisingly good!
Apart from the tours, you can also rent an electric bike and start immediately to explore the city on your own. The staff will provide all sorts of useful information and recommendations on where and when to go. If you are an independent traveller, this is definitely an option not to miss.
Address: Calle Pastor y Landero, 4 – puesto 48 (Inside the Mercado del Arenal)
Opening hours: Monday to Sunday 9:00 to 20:00
The bikes are great, equipped with gears and a basket. The prices are really good compared with other competitors. But probably the best thing about SeeByBike is their service. Ask the staff to show you the less touristy areas on the map and gave you some insider tips.
In addition to this, they offer a great bike tour around the city!
Rent A Bike Sevilla
Address: Plaza de Santa Cruz, 4
Opening hours: Monday to Sunday 9:00 to 18:00 (winter) or 20:00 (summer)
Rent a Bike Seville offers only several types of bikes: trek bikes, road bicycles, foldable bikes, mountain bicycles and electric bikes. So you can choose the one that suits you best!
You can either rent a bicycle directly at the shop or you can do it online. If you do so, they will arrange everything to deliver and pick up the bicycles at your accommodation.
Tips: If you book online you get better rates.
Website: Bici4City (only in Spanish)
Address: Calle Peral, 6 and Calle Antonio Susillo, 41 (both at the end of the Alameda de Hércules)
Opening hours: Monday to Friday 9:30 to 13:30 and 17:00 to 20:30. Saturday 10:30 to 13:30.
You can rent both bicycles and mountain bikes, as well as other accessories (helmet, baby seat, gloves…). The company has a very convenient location in the city center and the prices are very competitive. Ask for advice on routes, what to do and where to go (the staff is very nice).
