Things To Do

With so much to choose from, it can be difficult to decide what to do in Seville while you are here. Sure, there is the Alcázar and the Cathedral, but what about all these things Sevillanos love and lots of first-time visitors will miss?

But you don’t have to content yourself with the obvious. An independent traveler like you should explore off the beaten path and go beyond the usual tourist haunts. After all, aren’t these small hidden treasures the point of traveling?

Day Trips

Day trips from Seville are incredibly rewarding and, in most cases, just an hour away. If you are visiting Seville you should organize your agenda to visit at least one of these historic towns.

All of them are exciting getaways to tranquil and charming locations where the relaxed pace and the superb architecture will captivate your senses. Moreover, you won’t have any excuse to postpone your day trip when you discover how easy it is to get there.

Discover Córdoba

The city of Córdoba was once one of the great capitals of the world. Don’t miss the chance to explore one of the most important culture crossroads in history.

The main highlight is the amazing Mezquita, an old mosque now turned into the city’s Cathedral. You can also visit the Jewish Quarter, with its narrow streets lined with flowers and white-washed houses. Wander around the Alcazar fortress of King Don Pedro and discover the wonders of the Synagogue. Finally, walk along the lovely Calle de las Flores, which still upholds Córdoba’s traditional way of life.

Explore Granada

The Alhambra, a palatine citadel, is much more than palaces and gardens. It is the best representation of artistic, cultural and scientific development achieved by the Al-Andalus in its last period. The monumental complex of the Alhambra and the Generalife, declared World Heritage since 1984, has been a universal tourist attraction for centuries, alluring travellers from all over the globe.

But Granada offers more. You should definitely explore the Albaicin quarter, a labyrinth of narrow streets and whitewashed homes and go to the Mirador of San Nicolas, a park near the Albaicin quarter’s high point, to watch the sunset over the Alhambra.
