Horse Drawn Carriage Tour
Around Seville

Without any doubt a very romantic choice...

The horse drawn carriage tour is a very popular attraction in Seville. It's a great experience to get an overview and orientation of the city, especially if you are short of time. Moreover, the driver will give an explanation of the monuments and sights you see... and he can even tell you some tales and funny anecdotes.

The use of horse drawn carriages started long time ago, when the Feria de Abril was starting to become a tradition in Seville. At that time, important personalities and wealthy families used this carriages to get to the April's Fair facilities. They went there either to enjoy the event or to acquire some products.

Currently, a regular horse drawn carriage fits up to six people although you'll be pretty squeezed. It's great for four people and the ideal would be just two. If it rains or the sunrays are incredibly strong, some of the carriages have a retractable roof. Just in case, wear a hat or a cap especially if you are travelling with children.

In my opinion it is one of the most romantic things you can do... If you are celebrating a special occasion it will be easy to surprise your partner: find out the approximate sunset time and hire one at dusk! Success is guaranteed.

Now, if you are wondering where you can hire one the answer is quite simple. Carriage "stations" are scattered almost everywhere in the city center. Just go to the following places (check a map of Seville) and you'll find them:

Unfortunately, booking a horse drawn carriage tour in Seville is quite expensive. A tour of approximately 45 minutes will cost you 60 euros although the price and the itinerary are negotiable.

Nevertheless, if you are looking for something cheaper you should try Sevici or go to a bike rental shop.

Alternatively, you can also have a look at the open top tour bus companies.

Finally, while you are travelling on a shoestring why don't you walk? ;-)
