The Sevilla Card is a city pass or tourist card.
It's actually a smart card, including a chip with all your details and the package of attractions that you have purchased. It will be activated the first time you use it, not at the time of purchase.
Bear in mind that you can visit every attraction only once, so make sure the day of your planned visit the facility is open!

In most cases, it's cheaper to buy this card than to buy all the tickets separately, so you'll save a lot of money. And I say in most cases because the 24h city pass is simply not worth it.
Let's do some math: the most expensive places that you can visit from the list are the Alcazar (8.5€) and the Museo del Baile Flamenco (10€). Unless you plan to do the Torre del Oro cruise (16€), the Sevilla Card 24h will cost you more than buying the tickets of other attractions separately.
So my recommendation is to buy either the 48h or the 72h city pass, depending on how many sights you plan to visit and if you'd like to go on an open top tour bus.
Additionally, apart from enabling you to visit monuments and museums you can also use it on tourist buses, shops and restaurants.
Most importantly, it will save you lots of time and you'll avoid long queues! The Seville Cathedral has even a "priority access" that you can benefit from.
Finally, once you purchase the Seville city pass (you can even
do it online) you are instantly booking your tickets in advance. This means that your admittance is guaranteed.
It will depend on what you purchase. For example, if you buy a 24-hour card and you activate it at 9.30am on a Saturday, it will be operational until 9.30am on Sunday.
A great advantage is that the card can be bought in advance and be used later on since it won't expire until after you start using it.
There are three ways to the get the Sevilla Card city pass:
1) Purchase it online, print at home the receipt that appears on your screen (a copy will also be sent to the email address you provide) and redeem it for the card at any sales point (best for buyers outside of Spain and Western UE).
2) Purchase it online and have it shipped to you.
3) Buy it when you arrive in Seville. The card will cost you a little bit more. The sales point around the city are:
